It’s not perfect, but it’s a whole lot better than it was, and definitely good enough to go on a driver!

Lookin’ good. You can wax and or clearcoat those to keep ‘em shiny longer. If you want real mirror finish buffing out surface scratches using a fine compound is worth the effort. On softer and more reactive metals some of those bottle polishes work well (brass, non-stainless, copper, etc) but stainless is hard and mostly chemically inert, so you gotta hit it with abrasives. So shiny!

Thanks! This is going black compound to red to green stainless-specific stuff. If they weren’t going on a car that will get driven fairly often, I’d spend more time on them. There is still some scratches that show up under harsh light but overall it’s much better than it was. (They have some nicks and dings as well)
I did a second one and put some wax on it, it actually looked a little hazy until I buffed it so hard with the microfiber that I probably took the wax back off.
If I decide they need more work, I can always polish some more this winter.
